Different Types of Resumes

January 29, 2010

There are mainly two types of resumes. The traditional resume, which lists all the work experiences chronologically. This type of resume is useful when you have had a long career with no gaps and the new job you are applying is in the same industry. The second type of resume is the functional resume. While creating a functional resume, you can be a bit more creative. You can focus more on your skills and attributes to attract employers apart from your work history. This type of resume is useful if you have had a gap in your career and or if you were thinking of switching to a new career or if your work history is not an exact reflection of your skill level and your attributes and achievements.
