Best Careers 2011: Registered Nurse (RN)

Nursing have grown throughout the recession despite slump in other occupations. Expected job growth is projected to be much faster than average. By 2018 the projection is that there will be 582,000 new R.N. jobs. This is a growth rate of a massive more than 22 percent. This is according to the Labor Department projection. The highest growth in this profession will be in physicians’ offices.


The median salary (2009) was $63,750. The lowest-paid 10 percent earned less than $44,000. The highest-paid 10 percent earned more than $93,000.
